Villa Koukouvayia (Villa of the Owl) is a spacious, 3-residence retreat with accommodations for two to twenty guests. Set on a secluded, landscaped estate that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by hundreds of acres of working olive groves and walking trails, Villa Koukouvayia boasts the intimacy, privacy, and character of an historic inn, but with the gardens, spaces, and facilities to support larger groups. The estate’s three residences, a three-story Main House, a two-story Guest House, and a grove-level Garden Suite all rest at the top of a long, gated drive that rises from the quiet end of a gravel farm-road. Each residence, with its separated gardens, verandas, balconies, and facilities, can be reserved as a unified venue where more than twenty adults can capitalize on a campus perfect for fitness-focused retreats, workshops, presentations, performances, strategic collaborations, and adventure holidays. Villa Koukouvayia is only 40 minutes from the nearest airport (Chania) and within one hour of three of Western Crete’s most famous calendar beaches: Balos, Falarsana, and Elafonisi. The quaint historic Old Town of Chania is 30 minutes by car and several beautiful wineries and olive mills are all within 45 minutes. The Villa Koukouvayia campus combines intimate indoor facilities with outdoor spaces for whole group work, intimate spaces for inspiring breakout discussions, and spaces for multi-media presentations, artistic practice, and social activities that reinforce collaboration.
